A NOTE FROM STEVEN ROSSI

"It takes a village to raise a child" - Ancient Proverb

Teens gather information that help shape their identity and worldview from many different sources.  We strive to be an encouraging and positive agent of change in students lives by enabling them to CONNECT to God, REACH their friends, GROW in Christ, and SERVE just like Jesus. We hope to come alongside you; their parents as you navigate the adolescent years. We’re here for you: to encourage you, to equip you, pray with you and to challenge you in parenting your student well.

Here you’ll find resources and links to equip you with tools for improving your perspective and communication with your teen.  There are tips on how to connect with your son or daughter and how to engage them with friends who are positive influences.

Blessings on the journey!

SCRIPTURES FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS
Respect

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.” (I Timothy 4:12)

Discipline

“Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4)

Honor

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother’ – which is the first commandment with a promise – ‘that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.’” (Ephesians 6:1-3)

Encourage

“Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.” (Colossians 3:21)

Responsibility

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own.” (Luke 16:10-12)

Speech

“He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.” (Proverbs 13:3)

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” (Ephesians 4:29)

Modeling

“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up… Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:5-9).

Values

“For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.” (I Thessalonians 2:11-12)
