Deniz was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1979 and moved to the US (Fairfax, Virginia) in 1982. He married Sommer in 2005, and they have two teenage children: Kaitlyn and Owen. Deniz enjoys traveling to new destinations with his family, golf, and hosting friends. He accepted the call to follow Jesus when he was 8 at a Billy Graham revival event in Washington D.C and recommitted his life to Jesus in 2007 after the birth of his daughter Kaitlyn, when he began attending Creekside. He accepted the call to join the Elder Board in 2018 and will serve until his term is complete in 2024. Deniz has previously served as the Harvest Festival Coordinator and currently serves on the Finance Committee as well as leading a LifeGroup. His life verse is:
