Curriculum

Curriculum is simply a TOOL to help guide your child’s educational process. It is not the “end all, be all” and can (and should) be altered to fit your child’s needs.
Creekside Christian Academy believes that students should receive a Biblically-centered education, which includes our choice in curriculum.

In order to maintain a sense of community, it would be important for all students to be on the same curriculum. Here are the benefits of having all students on the same curriculum:

This can make it easy for parents to create their own cohorts outside of Monday/Wednesday schedules.
A sense of community- All grade level students are learning the same material, at the same time, presented in different ways (however the parent wants to teach). An individualized plan can also be created for students who need academic challenge or extra support.

Classes- Core subject classes can be taught according to where the students are in the scope-and-sequence timeline of the subject.

Assessments

Upon registering for Creekside Christian Academy, families are given the option to use the IReady assessment. This is used as an ongoing benchmark tool and will be given to the student by the director or teacher three times per year. The purpose of the assessments are as follows:

To see academic growth in order to celebrate student accomplishments and praise a character of resilience.
To find areas of strengths and ways to challenge the students academically.
To potentially find “gaps” or areas of focus in their learning process. Each grade level is a “building block” to another and filling in these gaps will be useful later on in their education.
Individualize their learning process.
IReady is an assessment program that will track their growth as well as personalize online learning for both Math and Language Arts. Students may complete online classes at home.

Parent Conferences

Twice per school year, parent conferences will be held to review student growth, areas of support, and to review the data from the assessments given to each student. These conferences will be between parent and director (or additional staff that may be hired on).

*Parent-director meetings can be held at any available time throughout the school year upon request.
