Career coaching is living generationally, recognizing that each generation is responsible for “paying it forward” and improving the lives that follow.
I have worked in public service (government) for nearly 36 years, non-profits, and the State Capitol, particularly in financing and policy development in the housing and energy sectors. I have hired and trained managers, staff, and student assistants.
In addition to serving as a board of director for several non-profit organizations and professional consulting, I mentor students at UC Davis and young careerists wanting to change jobs. I have successfully helped people find employment or strengthen their knowledge, skills, and education.
Now retired, I learned that all career experiences, both positive and negative, lead to growth and purpose. Each job creates or improves a tool in your life “toolbox” to be used later. We are uniquely created to make a difference because life is never wasted.

I see career coaching as a forward‑focused partnership where I help clients clarify goals, increase self‑awareness, and take meaningful action. I enjoy working with young adults and mid‑career professionals as they navigate college decisions, career pivots, and new beginnings.
I recently retired after 19 years in the financial industry at Northern Trust and BMO (formerly Bank of the West), where I worked as a program manager, technical writer, trainer, and instructional designer. My career has included many pivots —including 3 years teaching junior high ESL in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC, working as a travel agent, and leaving, after 3 months, a dream job as a fashion buyer at Bloomingdales to move to London—which shaped my belief that we can have more than one meaningful career.
I became a Christian at 16 through Young Life, and my faith has guided how I live, lead, and work. As the parent of two sons (ages 20 and 21), I’ve navigated the college application process firsthand and have spent the past six years helping students with college essays, personal insight questions, and résumé workshops. I strive to lead my life—and my work —with integrity, humility, and service, seeking to align my career choices with my values and faith.

Career coaching has been pivotal in my own life in college, graduate school and a few additional times as I have made major career changes. Working with a coach helps to process the decision making process, learn from an expert and move forward confidently.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Finance, a Master’s Degree in Human Resources and a coaching certification. My experience spans from insurance underwriting, HR management, recruiting/interviewing, training, development and coaching, business startups and currently franchise ownership with Chick-fil-A.
My goal is to coach, empower and enable leaders to reach their full potential through coaching, mentorship, goal setting and development. It has been amazing to see life trajectories change for the people I am blessed to work with and even more amazing to see God at work in people’s lives. I believe we are entrusted with this life to be good stewards and serve God and others well and I strive to do so every day.
Pivots/Challenges
I have made a few significant career pivots in life. After earning a bachelor’s degree in finance, I worked for 3 years in the insurance industry and learned that I love people and am good with numbers. I went back to school and after earning a master’s in Human Resources, I pursued a 14 year career in human resources, both in manufacturing plants and corporate settings. I then switched careers again to become a Chick-fil-A franchise owner and have loved this new challenge for over 10 years.
Faith journey in the workplace.
In the HR corporate setting it was difficult to discuss faith at work, and even prohibited. In that setting I was able to mentor and discuss faith as others brought up and initiated the conversation. As a franchise owner, it has been much easier since I am building a faith based culture and our purpose and values are faith based and wholistic. My faith is an integral part of my identity and therefore who I am, and I am able to bring it up throughout my conversations and meetings in my current role.

Hi, my name is Randy Wolff. I look forward to working with you! It is my prayer to be able to assist you in your career journey. I am excited about sharing with you how God will use your career situation for His honor and glory.
In 1983, I graduated from Biola University with a BS in Business Administration. I am currently retired, having worked 39 years in the Accounting and Finance fields within the County of Sacramento. I worked as the Treasury Manager for the County Treasurer for 18 years, focusing in the areas of banking and investments, while supervising 22 staff. I also worked as the Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer for the Sacramento Area Sewer District. I prepared the Long Term Financial Plan, the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, and was involved in bond financing and debt issuance for the District.
I am grateful to be a part of this program and to be involved in the early stages of its implementation. One of my life verses is Colossians 3:23 – “whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,” has helped guide me in my professional, personal, and spiritual life.

What Career Coaching Means to Me:
Career coaching is helping people discover how God has uniquely gifted them and align those gifts with meaningful work and purpose. I believe our careers are one of the ways we serve others, reflect Christ, and make a lasting impact in the world.
Specialty / Professional Experience:
I am a Certified Christian Life and Business Coach with over 9 years of coaching experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Education. I also have over 11 years of experience teaching and mentoring students in both public and private school settings, helping them identify their strengths and reach their potential. In addition, I partner with my husband as a business owner in the real estate industry, where we renovate and restore homes. I enjoy working with individuals exploring career direction, life transitions, purpose discovery, entrepreneurship, and aligning their work with God’s calling on their lives.
Personal:
One of my greatest personal challenges was learning to believe that I was capable of pursuing the opportunities God placed before me. Through faith, I discovered that when we partner with God instead of relying solely on our own plans, He often exceeds what we thought was possible. I am passionate about encouraging others to recognize their gifts, embrace their calling, and walk confidently in the assignments God has given them.
