Creekside Outside Logo white

We are called by God to community and fellowship together (Acts 2:42). Creekside Outside is a hub designed to connect individuals who share a passion for the outdoors.  You'll find events that suit your level of adventure and risk and meet new friends who share your interests – outside. Activities range from mild to wild, are always informal and fun, and led by volunteers who love God's creation. For more information, see event descriptions as they become available or contact Quinton Miller at outside@creeksideeg.com.

We'll be in the Creekside Atrium the first Sunday of each month. Stop to ask questions and get more information.

Disclaimer: Some of these events are volunteer-led, and participation in these activities is not covered by Creekside's liability insurance.

Upcoming Events

The goal of the JFK 50 Mile Challenge is to walk 50 miles in one day.  First held in the spring of 1963, the inspiration came from then President John F. Kennedy's push to bring the country back to physical fitness and was based on a requirement that President Teddy Roosevelt had set for his own military officers at the dawn of the 20th Century.

For more information about the JFK 50 Mile Challenge, see https://www.artofmanliness.com/health-fitness/fitness/take-trjfk-50-mile-challenge/

You may not be able to finish it, but you can certainly start!  Feel free to do this on your own, with friends, or even tag team it with your Life Group.  The route is approximately 5 miles long, and we’ll walk it ten times.

Beginning in the Creekside parking lot, the route will open at 4:00 am, though you can start whenever you arrive.

This event is for people who have never backpacked, have not backpacked in years, or who have lots of experience and want to share their knowledge.  If you have a child who's never slept under the stars this is the perfect occasion to introduce them.

The destination is Island Lake in the Tahoe National Forest.  The hike in is short and easy, and ends at a stunning lake with no cellphone coverage.

There will be a meeting to go over basics and coordinate participants.  While not required, first timers are strongly encouraged to attend!  We'll cover basic gear requirements and help you avoid common mistakes.

Please RSVP.  If you have any questions, contact Quinton Miller at (916) 502-3421.
