Journey to Oneness

with Ron Hitchcock and Earl & Michelle Estep

Class Details

The Journey to Oneness shows how relationships transition from individualism towards interdependence and a shared identity. Couples will discover that intimacy and commitment increase as they progress from one stage to the next. Premarital couples will find that the Journey to Oneness empowers them to establish healthy boundaries that promote mutuality in friendships and validation of each others values. We welcome all married and engaged couples.

Sessions:
4 sessions - June 4 through 25

Cost:
$30 per couple

About the Instructor

Prior to joining Creekside staff in 2022, Ron served as a pastor in Alaska for 17 years and in Columbus Ohio for 18 years. He accepted Jesus at age 8. He was born in the California Bay Area, then moved to Montana to attend college, where he married his high school sweetheart, Barbara. They have been married 43 years and have two adult children and four grandchildren. Ron enjoys the outdoors, traveling, writing, and connecting with people.

From Inspiration to Scripture: How the Bible Came to Be

Have you ever wondered how we got our Bible? Join seminary trained and fellow Creekside member, Bob Van Allen, as he uses actual cuneiform tablets and papyrus sheets that prove our Bible is the same as it was written thousands of year ago.

About the Instructor

Bob Van Allen has a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Education from Prairie Bible Institute and a Master’s degree in Exegetical Theology from Western Seminary. His spiritual gift as a teacher has been an important part of over 30 years experience in Christian ministry on the mission field, in churches, and in Christian schools.

Portraits of Faith: Exploring Characters in the Bible

with Elder Board

Class Details

Join and participate every week as members of Creekside's elder board lead you in a discussion on various characters and personalities in the Bible. Every week will bring new insights and perspectives as we learn more about those who have shaped our beliefs and relationship with God.

4 sessions - June 25 through July 23, off July 9 for VBS

Faith in Action: Equipping Creekside for Outreach

with Matt Rau

Class Details

We know that Jesus commanded us to “Go and make disciples of all nations.” And "Be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Join Outreach Pastor Matt Rau who will show how the disciples lived missionally during their time and how we can take those practical lessons to go out to Elk Grove to serve and reach intentionally for the Kingdom.

3 sessions - July 23 through August 6

About the Instructor

Matt is an Elk Grove native and originally attended Creekside from the time he was in the nursery until graduating high school. After graduation he moved away to go to college at Azusa Pacific University and then began working in youth ministry in Branson, Missouri. He has worked in full-time ministry since 2013 and moved back home to join the staff team at Creekside in 2018. Matt got married in July 2020 and has two little boys to keep him busy. Matt loves anything outdoors! Biking, hiking, rock climbing, sports, you name it and he’s in!
