Amy Rau

Position: Creekside Christian Academy Director
Categories: Creekside Academy

Amy grew up in a small town outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan. After high school, she moved across the country to attend Biola University to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. She began her teaching career in Southern California, working with kindergarten and first-grade students, and it was during that time she met her husband, Matt. In 2020, they moved to Sacramento, where Amy has since taught 3rd and 5th grade, welcomed two energetic “Raudy” boys, and made a major leap of faith to help launch Creekside Christian Academy.

Although she was raised in a Christian home—her father has been a pastor her entire life—it was the sudden loss of her uncle that led her to fully commit her life to Christ. Amy and her family began attending Creekside in 2020, and she officially joined the staff in February 2025.

In her spare time Amy loves to run and has completed six half marathons. She also loves to read—especially because teaching kids how to read is one of her greatest passions.

Her favorite verse is:

Isaiah 41:10 – So do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
