Jim was born and raised in the midtown neighborhood of Sacramento and grew up attending First Baptist Church of Sacramento, where he began my walk with Christ at an early age. In 2008, he and his wife, Kelly, joined Creekside. They raised their two children in the inviting community of Elk Grove and have been blessed by four grandchildren.

Upon retiring, Jim answered God’s call to serve as a volunteer chaplain with the Law Enforcement Chaplaincy of Sacramento. He is also a member of Creekside’s Prayer and Chaplain team, a LifeGroup, Men’s Huddle, and IronMen. Jim enjoys kayaking, the wisdom found in books, walking, and the uplifting melodies of gospel music. His life verse is:
